Christian Sports International was formed in 1990 as a charitable, non-profit association based in Pittsburgh, PA. HZUMC member and former Major League umpire Scott Grinder currently serves as Executive Director of CSI. CSI operates high quality, always affordable sports camps, clinics, and programs in close partnership with community-based organizations, churches, and groups.

Programs are held at local, on-site facilities-- schools, athletic fields, churches, community centers, and gyms in both inner city and suburban locations. CSI has served in New York City's Harlem, Chicago's Cabrini Green Project, and strategic cities throughout the US. They target school-aged children and teenagers and continually include highly visible athletes who share the values and vision of CSI.

Christian Sports International works closely with young people through their love of sports and sports heroes. This allows the open presentation of traditional Christian values, ethics, morals, and life-guiding principles. Through these principles, hope is engendered, character is molded, and lives are impacted. This is the crucial purpose of CSI! Long after our camps become but a dim memory, the seeds of our message remain, ready to be nurtured into changed and productive lives.
