HZUMC Kid's Ministry Vision:
We want children to fall in love with Jesus! To grow, learn and thrive in their relationship with Him, and share their faith with family and friends.
We want children to:
- Experience relationships that show them the LOVE of God.
- Understand the TRUTH that is found in the Bible, and how it impacts their lives.
- " Learn to PRAISE God for all that He has done and all that He has promised to do.
- SERVE others as an example of Christ’s love.
Safe Sanctuary:
HZUMC participates in the Safe Sanctuary process, which includes review of personal background information of teachers and volunteers in classes and activities involving children/youth, as well as monitoring of hall and classroom activities during the Sunday School hour.
Nursery:
The nursery is available for infants and children through 3 years of age during church services as well as the Sunday school hour. There is a pager system in place to give you peace of mind that if your child needs you, we will be able to contact you.

We offer LIVE B.I.G. class for children ages 2 - 5th grade! Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:45 for fun, friendship and faith in LIVE B.I.G.! Classes are based on 3 LIVE B.I.G. truths:
- #1 God is a great big God.
- #2 God loves us with a great big love.
- #3 We are part of God's great big world.
We believe that Scripture is the basis for every part of our lives, and we want to live out these 3 truths in our everyday lives…and we want our children to as well! Join us on Sunday morning for LIVE B.I.G.!

Kids Worship
We believe that the presence of children in our worship services is very important, but we also know that little ones can't always control their wiggles! On Sunday mornings we offer several options for families with children during our worship services for that very reason!
The CRY ROOM is available for families with infants who do not wish to have their baby in the nursery just yet. It is located at the back of our Sanctuary, where you can see and hear everything that is going on during the service.
KIDS WORSHIP bags are also available at the back of the Sanctuary for children who wish to remain in the service. Worship bags are packed full of fun and even a bulletin just for kids with tons of activities that coordinate with what the service is about.
KIDS OWN WORSHIP Children's Church will begin in October 2009 during our 11:00 service for children ages 4 thru 1st grade.
CHILDRENS SERMON is a part of our service where kids of all ages (even adults!) join Pastor John in the sanctuary for a few minutes to talk about a lesson just for them. Children's Sermons are part of both the 8:30 and 11:00 services.
Children's Choir
The Children's Choir PRAISE PACK includes children 4 years old to 5th grade. They are invited to learn new songs while also learning to praise and worship God with their voices. The choir provides music during the worship services and special events during the year. Rehearsals are held during the 11:00 Sunday worship service. The Children are dismissed from the service at the same time as KIDS OWN WORSHIP.
Kid's Club
After School Program
Held on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. KIDS CLUB is our After School Program for children in Kindergarten - 4th grade. KIDS CLUB is open to families in our community who want a great place for their kids to be on Tuesday nights after school. KIDS CLUB runs from October - April during the school year. Dinner is provided to the children on a weekly basis. Students are picked up at CVE School at the conclusion of the school day, however if children from other schools wish to participate we'd love to have you! Transportation is the responsibility of parents/guardians for children from other schools. Information about Kids Club is available in the office from Brooke!
