Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different from the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $50. Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. A "Seniors" box is also available, geared toward the senior's diet: low fat, low sodium and 3 grams of protein per meal. It is $28 per box with 10 prepared meals in each box. There is no age requirement to order the Seniors box; anyone can order them. "Specials" are also available monthly for $18 to $21 per box depending on contents. The food in all boxes is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
Food sales and distribution are handled by church host sites. Orders and payments are collected at HZUMC and the orders are turned in to the Angel Food main office in Monroe, Georgia. One to two weeks later, a team from HZ picks up the order and brings it to church for distribution.
==> You can now order online from AngelFood at HZUMC. NOTE: orders are not shipped. You must pick up your order at the church on the normal distribution day and time. Online ordering allows you to place your order online and pay using a credit or debit card. Online ordering includes a $1.00 processing fee.
